Our "Julie!"

We'll be using her frozen eggs!

So this'll be a quick one guys.  Summer's calling my name and I've got things to do.  So, here we go...

If you remember from my last post, I was juggling a few balls (I believe I also promised I'd stop saying "balls").  Because our doctor requested our egg donor from California to stay in Madison for her entire 18-day transfer, our egg donor, going by the alias Erica, was unable to fulfill those requirements and we were in need, once again, of eggs.  There were a few possibilities and the one we carefully have chosen is a new egg donor.  We think it's a good option and our doctors and everyone at The Surrogacy Center agrees.

Look like Adan at all?

Her alias is Julie.  We're using her frozen eggs which is actually against our doctor's orders.  Our doctor, an amazing one at The Wisconsin Fertility Clinic, prefers to work with fresh eggs because their chances are often more successful.  But she accepted this choice we thoughtfully made and although we're very grateful for that, it also makes me a teensy bit worried.  I mean, if things don't work out, it is completely on us then. We should've listened to the doctor.  Eekk!

Is this weird to be putting her pictures on this blog?  LoL.  These were all on her online profile...

Anyways, we chose this donor not only because she's Hispanic and her profile looks excellent, we also chose her so that we'd stay with the same company as our previous egg donor.  We're saving money, time, and energy by simply stickin' with them.  Otherwise we'd have to get our lawyers involved to end the relationship and find a new relationship with a different company, etc. etc. etc.  All of that requires paperwork and agreements and money and time...Which is the last thing I want to spend right now.  In addition, Julie's eggs are pretty much ready to be packaged up and sent to us, speedy as Jimmy John's, easy as Amazon Prime.  Yippee!

I want to be her.

I bet you're wondering...Why couldn't we just get Erica's eggs frozen (our previous egg donor)?  Yeah, I am still a bit confused on this.  But essentially frozen eggs must be donated by someone who has successfully given birth in the past.  Our previous egg donor was never pregnant.  Makes sense, I suppose.

We can own her precious frozen eggs because she's had children before.

Well, I guess that's it.  We will be purchasing eight mature eggs from Julie which will cost about $20,000 or so.  Ugh.  I need to get another job!

You had me at "Disneyland!"

Oh, by the way, my older sister Shawn gave me the idea to make our own wine and sell it to help with costs for this baby.  It's been fermenting in my mind for a bit (get it?).  Do I have the time for that?  Not really.  But would it be fun?  Hell yeah.  Could I make money?  Meh.  Maybe a little.  Whatcha guys think of that idea?

Interesting questions.  But good answers.

I'm also hoping to have a couple friends who have experienced the fertility struggles be guest writers for this blog.  Look for that coming soon!
